Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says its intelligence chief, Majid Khademi, has been killed, according to statements carried by Iranian state media.
The IRGC said the killing took place on Monday morning, but did not provide details on how or where it happened. Authorities in Tehran have accused Israel and the United States of being behind the attack, though no evidence has been made public.
There has been no independent confirmation of the incident, and neither Israel nor the US has commented on the allegations.
Khademi had recently taken over the role after the death of his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, who was killed in June 2025 during a period of heightened tensions between Iran and Israel.
Earlier this year, Khademi had accused foreign intelligence services of involvement in anti-government protests in Iran, claims that were not verified and were rejected by Western officials.
The reported killing of a senior IRGC intelligence figure comes at a time of ongoing regional tension, with Iran and Israel engaged in a long-running shadow conflict.
