A US military pilot remains missing after an F-15 fighter jet was reportedly shot down near a sensitive area in Iran, according to early reports that have not been independently verified.

US officials said one of the two crew members onboard the aircraft has been rescued, while search efforts continue for the second pilot. Details about the exact location and circumstances of the crash remain unclear.

Iranian state-linked media reported that authorities are offering a reward of around £50,000 to anyone who captures the pilot alive and hands them over to the police. The claim has not been confirmed by independent sources.

Separately, reports suggest an A-10 US attack aircraft was also targeted in the Persian Gulf region. According to officials cited in initial accounts, the aircraft reached Kuwaiti airspace before the pilot ejected and the plane crashed. No further details have been confirmed about the pilot’s condition.

Speaking to The Independent, Donald Trump declined to say how Washington would respond if Iranian forces locate the missing pilot first, stating only: “We hope that’s not going to happen.”

The incident comes amid reports of repeated strikes near the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Iranian authorities said the site has been targeted multiple times during the current conflict, with one security staff member reportedly killed by projectile fragments. The extent of the damage has not been independently verified.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides yet to release full details, and key aspects of the incident still unclear.
