Romelu Lukaku has held what are described as positive talks with Napoli, as the Belgian striker continues his recovery from injury away from the club’s training base.
The discussions come after reports that tensions had emerged between the player and the Serie A side, amid concerns he had not followed instructions regarding training commitments in Italy.
Those issues now appear to have been resolved, with sources indicating the meeting was calm and constructive, leading to an agreement between all parties. Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, and Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna were also involved in the talks.
The 32-year-old has been struggling with a hamstring problem that has limited his impact this season, making only a handful of appearances. His last outing came in early March, when he featured as a substitute in a win over Torino.
Since then, Lukaku has been in Belgium continuing his rehabilitation after a setback in his recovery. During the recent meeting, he is understood to have updated the club on his condition and progress.
Napoli are hopeful the striker could return to action within the next two weeks, with the situation now considered resolved internally.
