Bank of Albania has officially granted a license to Jet Bank, marking a key step toward launching the country’s first fully digital banking model.
The approval confirms the completion of a rigorous regulatory process, with the bank meeting domestic and international standards on security, transparency and financial stability.
Jet Bank will now move into a controlled testing phase, where its platform will be accessible to a limited group of users. The goal is to evaluate user experience, system performance and functionality before a wider rollout.
“Our focus now is to ensure that every element of the customer experience is simple, functional and reliable,” said CEO Fatbardha Rino. “We will begin with a controlled testing phase before opening to the broader public.”
During this phase, the bank will gradually build its portfolio of products and services, based on user feedback and real-time performance data.
The move signals a shift in Albania’s financial sector, as digital-first banking models begin to challenge traditional institutions. If successful, Jet Bank could reshape how individuals and businesses interact with financial services in the country.
