Lana Del Rey enters the Bond universe with 007 First Light soundtrack

Singer finally enters the Bond universe years after a rejected submission, with a new track for 007 First Light

Lana Del Rey has released a new song tied to the James Bond franchise, marking her first official contribution to the iconic spy universe.

The track serves as the theme for the upcoming video game 007 First Light and was co-written with David Arnold, a composer known for scoring multiple Bond films including Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

The release comes years after Del Rey revealed that her song “24” had originally been written with Bond in mind but was not selected for a film. The track later appeared on her 2015 album Honeymoon.

In previous interviews, the singer had openly spoken about her desire to create a Bond theme, calling it a missed opportunity at the time.

The new song is now available on major streaming platforms ahead of the game’s launch on May 27. According to the release notes, it offers a fresh interpretation of the Bond universe, aligned with the game’s reimagined origin story.

The project also comes as Del Rey prepares to release a new studio album later this year, her first since 2023’s Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
